Gandhinagar: NTPC Limited Western Region I Headquarters, Mumbai, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute (GCRI) to strengthen cancer treatment infrastructure in the state.
Under the agreement, NTPC will support the procurement of a high-energy Linear Accelerator for GCRI’s Siddhpur Satellite Centre in Ahmedabad. The advanced radiotherapy equipment will help improve access to modern cancer treatment and benefit patients from Gujarat and nearby regions.
The MoA was formally exchanged between GCRI Director Dr. Shashank Pandya and NTPC Regional Executive Director West I, E Satya Phani Kumar. Senior officials from both organisations were present during the signing.
NTPC said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to social responsibility and public healthcare development. The project is expected to enhance treatment capacity, reduce the burden on existing facilities, and improve patient outcomes.
With this support, GCRI aims to strengthen its cancer care services and contribute to a more robust healthcare ecosystem in Gujarat, particularly in the field of advanced radiotherapy.
