Dispur: The Government of Assam has appointed IAS Aditya Vikram Yadav as the new District Commissioner of Lakhimpur.Â
The appointment comes as part of the latest administrative reshuffle in the state.
Yadav is a 2018-batch officer belonging to the Assam–Meghalaya cadre. Prior to this posting, he was serving as Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Dispur. He was also holding the additional responsibility of State Project Director at the Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society.
In his earlier assignments, Yadav served as District Commissioner and District Magistrate of Sivasagar from September 2022 to September 2024. During his tenure, he oversaw the administration of the district. Yadav has also served as Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary of Assam in Guwahati between January and September 2022. Earlier in his career, he worked as Sub-Divisional Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate in the state administration.
Academically, Yadav holds a Bachelor’s degree in Constitutional Law from National Law University Delhi and an LL.B. degree from University of Delhi.
