Dispur: The Government of Assam has appointed IAS Preeti Kumari as the new District Commissioner of West Karbi Anglong as part of a recent administrative reshuffle.
A 2020-batch officer, Kumari was previously serving as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam in the General Administration Department. She was also holding the additional charge of the Department of Innovation, Incubation, and Start-Ups.
Earlier in her career, Kumari served as Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) in Margherita in Tinsukia district from October 2022 to February 2024, where she handled key administrative responsibilities at the sub-divisional level.Â
She also worked as an Assistant Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications under the Ministry of Communications in New Delhi.
