New Delhi, March 31, 2026 (APAC Media): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a major reshuffle of senior bureaucrats. IAS Nivedita Shukla Verma (1991 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre) has been appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
She will also serve as the Secretary of Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare
Verma earlier served as the Secretary of the Department of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers
Other key IAS appointments include
- IAS Tejveer Singh (1994 batch, Punjab cadre) has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Department of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, replacing Nivedita Shukla Verma.
- IAS Narendra Bhooshan (1992 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre) has been made Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development.
- IAS Chandra Sekhar Kumar (1992 batch, Odisha cadre), previously Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, has now been made Chief Executive Officer, National Rainfed Area Authority, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (in rank of Secretary).
- IAS Srivatsa Krishna (1994 batch, Karnataka cadre), previously Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, has been posted as the Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs.
- IAS Sanjay Lohiya (1994 batch, Assam-Meghalaya cadre), previously Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines, has now been posted as the Special Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.
- IAS Rohit Kansal (1995 batch, AGMUT cadre), earlier serving as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, has now been made the Secretary of the Department of Rural Development, replacing IAS Shailesh Kumar Singh upon superannuation on 31.03.2026.
- IAS Bharat Harbanslal Khera (1996 batch, Himachal Pradesh cadre), previously Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, has now been given charge as the Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (in rank of Secretary)
- IAS Bhuvnesh Kumar (1995 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre), previously Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India, Ministry of Electronics & IT, will now take charge as the Secretary, Ministry of Tourism.
In-situ Upgradation to Special Secretary Rank
- IAS Sanjay Rastogi (1991 batch, Odisha cadre), previously Director General, National Archives of India, Ministry of Culture, will continue in the same role with upgradation to the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India
- IAS Sajjan Singh Yadav (1995 batch, AGMUT cadre), previously Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has now become Special Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance
