New Delhi: IAS Prashant Kumar Mishra has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to C. R. Patil, Union Minister for Jal Shakti.
Mishra is an officer of the 2014 batch belonging to the Karnataka cadre.
The appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Mishra will serve in the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation at the level of Deputy Secretary.
Before this posting, Mishra served as Deputy Commissioner of Ballari. He also held the position of Director (Personnel) at Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation in Bengaluru.
According to the order, his tenure will be for four years from the date he assumes charge, or until the minister’s term ends, whichever comes earlier. The Government of Karnataka has been asked to relieve him immediately so he can take up the new role.
Mishra’s appointment reflects the government’s continued focus on strengthening work related to water resource management, river development, and Ganga rejuvenation initiatives.
