New Delhi: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Voltas Limited to strengthen innovation in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and cooling technology sector.Â
The collaboration aims to support and accelerate startups developing advanced solutions in this growing industry.
Under the partnership, DPIIT and Voltas will identify and nurture high-potential startups working in areas including HVAC technologies, energy-efficient cooling systems, AI- and machine-learning-based predictive diagnostics, IoT-enabled smart appliances, advanced control systems, power electronics, and digitalisation across manufacturing and service operations.
Startups recognised under the Startup India programme will gain access to industry mentorship, technical guidance, and opportunities to test their innovations in real-world environments. The collaboration will also allow startups to participate in proof-of-concept and pilot programmes, helping them validate their technologies and refine their products.
In addition, participating startups will benefit from access to research and development laboratories and testing infrastructure. They will also be able to engage with industry-specific problem statements through innovation challenges and hackathons organised as part of the partnership.
Officials said the initiative highlights the importance of strong collaboration between industry and emerging startups to develop scalable, technology-driven solutions that can shape the future of manufacturing and cooling technologies in India.
