New Delhi, May 15 (APAC Media): The Ministry of AYUSH has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
The initiative has been launched under the “BHASHINI Rajyam – A BHASHINI Sahayogi Program,” that will integrate the BHASHINI platform with various digital services of the AYUSH ministry.
AYUSH Services to Be Available in 22 Indian Languages
Under the AYUSH Grid initiative, the Ministry of AYUSHis already working across healthcare, research, education, drug administration and related sectors.
Officials remarked that these services will now gradually be made available in all 22 languages recognised under the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.
The collaboration will help integrate BHASHINI’s technologies across all AYUSH digital platforms, including:
- Translation APIs
- Speech and voice technologies
- AI-enabled multilingual communication tools
The initiative will also focus on developing specialised multilingual terminology and AI models related to various AYUSH disciplines, like:
- Ayurveda
- Yoga & Naturopathy
- Unani
- Siddha
- Sowa-Rigpa
- Homoeopathy
The move aims to strengthen communication related to healthcare and improve citizen engagement in diverse linguistic groups.
Officials Highlight Importance of Multilingual Healthcare
The agreement was signed by Subodh Kumar, Director, Ministry of AYUSH and Amitabh Nag, CEO, Digital India BHASHINI Division.

“AYUSH systems carry deep civilisational and cultural knowledge, and making this knowledge accessible in every Indian language is essential for inclusive healthcare delivery and wider public outreach,” said Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH.
The ministry quoted that the collaboration reflects continued focus on using new emerging technologies to build an accessible, inclusive, and technology driven healthcare ecosystem all across the country.
