Patna, May 14 (APAC Media): In a cabinet meeting held in Patna, chaired by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, the state approved a partnership with Singapore-based Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN) to help build Bihar’s AI ecosystem and support technology driven development.
The decision was among 18 major proposals cleared during the cabinet meeting, reflecting the government’s broader focus on technology, education, industrial growth and employment generation.
AI Training Programme for 7,000 Youth
As part of the initiative, Bihar will launch an artificial intelligence training programme in collaboration with GFTN.
Key features of the programme include:
- AI training for 7,000 students and youth over five years
- Participation from students across science, technology and other academic streams
- A five-month advanced AI certification course
The programme will be conducted in partnership with:
- National University of Singapore
- Asian Institute of Digital Finance
- Linux Foundation
Officials said the initiative will create a skilled workforce capable of supporting the growing digital economy.
Aryabhata Technology Observatory
The state will also set up a new innovation platform called the Aryabhata Technology Observatory. This platform will support more than 100 startups and will provide students and researchers access to advanced AI tools and digital infrastructure.
Education and MSME Reforms Cleared
Several measures related to education and industrial development were also approved. These include:
- Three new degree colleges under the Seven Nischay-3 scheme
- Creation of 132 teaching and non-teaching posts
- Expansion of the MSME cluster development scheme
- Promotion of Common Facility Centres (CFCs) in BIADA areas
- Measures to strengthen industrial growth and job creation
The cabinet also approved the establishment of a campus of the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) in Bihar’s Vaishali district. The institute will promote education and research in food processing technology.
Focus on Technology-Led Development
Officials said the latest cabinet decisions highlight Bihar’s effort to combine technology, education, industrial expansion and employment generation under a long-term development strategy.
