Bhubaneswar, October 5 (APAC Media): Odisha has become the first Indian state to launch a dedicated digital incentive portal for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida unveiled the platform at the Odisha Travel Bazaar 2026, marking a significant milestone in the state’s tourism development strategy. This initiative positions Odisha as a premier business tourism destination in India.
Streamlining MICE Event Applications
The portal streamlines financial incentive applications for event organisers and tourism operators while promoting Odisha as India’s leading destination for corporate conventions and professional gatherings.
By establishing a centralised digital mechanism, the state aims to simplify processes, accelerate project approvals, and reduce administrative delays. The platform supports MICE tourism activities including meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and incentive travel programs.
Expanding Heritage and Wedding Tourism
Beyond traditional MICE events, Odisha is actively promoting destination weddings, experiential tourism, and cultural heritage ventures.
Bhubaneswar, marketed as the “temple city,” offers distinctive opportunities for corporate events and heritage tourism. The government is expediting approvals for sports events and cultural initiatives, backed by targeted capital subsidies and dedicated tourism support teams.
This strategic initiative reflects Odisha’s commitment to capturing India’s growing MICE and business tourism market through streamlined processes and comprehensive destination development.
