Saharanpur, May 14 (APAC Media): Shobhit University has announced the appointment of Prof. Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu as its new Vice Chancellor, strengthening the institution’s leadership with an experienced academician and administrator from the field of technical and higher education.
Dr. Sidhu has held several key leadership positions in prominent universities across Punjab and is widely recognised for his contribution to faculty development, academic administration, and technical education.
Before joining Shobhit University, he served as the vice chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University. In addition, he has served as vice chancellor of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University between April 2021 and November 2023. He has also worked as Academic Dean at I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University.
University officials said Dr. Sidhu’s appointment reflects Shobhit University’s focus on strengthening academic excellence, research, and innovation. They added that his leadership, administrative experience, and commitment to education would help the university further its mission of nation-building through quality higher education.
The appointment is expected to support the university’s efforts in expanding academic collaborations, research initiatives, and industry-oriented learning programs.
