Delhi Strengthens Clean Air Campaign With New Air Purification Technologies

New Delhi, May 25 (APAC Media): Delhi has intensified its efforts to tackle air pollution, with the government introducing several indigenous pollution-control technologies across different parts of the capital. 

Senior officials, including Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and MLA Harish Khurana, carried out on-ground inspections of the newly installed systems on Monday. 

STR 101 Air Purifiers Installed in Busy Corridors

As part of the initiative, 21 STR 101 filterless air purifiers have been installed along Sat Guru Ram Singh Marg. Officials said these self-cleaning devices are designed to tackle smoke, dust, PM2.5, PM10, and other airborne pollutants.

Each unit can reportedly purify nearly three lakh litres of air every hour, helping improve air quality in heavily congested traffic zones. Authorities believe the technology will play an important role in reducing pollution levels in some of the city’s busiest road corridors.

India’s First EV Mounted Anti-Smog Gun

In another step towards cleaner air, Delhi has introduced India’s first electric vehicle-mounted anti-smog gun in Kirti Nagar and Mayapuri. The system is aimed at controlling dust pollution caused by roads and construction activity.

Since the anti-smog system operates on an electric vehicle platform, it does not generate additional emissions, making it an environmentally friendly solution.

PAWAN III Device To Target Vehicular Emissions

Additionally, the PAWAN III pollution-control device has been installed near the Kirti Nagar Fire Station. The technology is designed to capture and treat vehicular emissions directly at the source. 

During field trials, officials observed a reduction of nearly 29 percent in particulate pollution levels around the installation site. The device is expected to support Delhi’s larger efforts to reduce harmful emissions from vehicles and improve urban air quality.

The use of such clean technologies forms a part of Delhi’s broader anti-pollution strategy focused on reducing dust, smoke, and vehicular pollution across the national capital throughout the year.
