Bhopal, May 21 (APAC Media): The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to work with Google to use artificial intelligence and advanced technology for managing the Simhastha Kumbh Mela scheduled to be held in Ujjain in 2028.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held discussions with officials from Google Cloud India in Bhopal on Wednesday regarding the use of AI-based systems for better crowd management, security, and event coordination during the religious gathering.
Centre of Excellence to Come Up in Indore
“We are preparing a strategic partnership between the Madhya Pradesh government and Google Cloud India. As part of this collaboration, a Centre for Excellence will be established in Indore, and an MoU related to the project is expected to be signed soon,” Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi said.

The centre will focus on AI-driven innovation, research, skill development, and technology solutions. According to officials, over 10,000 AI developers are expected to be trained through the initiative.
Mandloi further added that Google will contribute part of the project funding, while the remaining amount will be provided by the Madhya Pradesh government.
Officials also discussed the development of a smart application that would combine crowd management, predictive traffic monitoring, security analysis, and AI-based emergency response systems on a single platform.
The app is expected to provide pilgrims with real-time updates in local languages. The system is aimed at improving safety, convenience, and overall management for millions of devotees who will attend the Kumbh Mela in 2028.
AI For Human Wildlife Conflict Resolvement
Mandloi further said the chief minister also explored the possibility of using AI-based solutions to address increasing human-wildlife conflict in the state, to which Google officials responded positively.
Finally, the officials from Google Cloud India said that the tech giant will work and come up with solutions which are aligned with Madhya Pradesh’s priority sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare, forest management, and women and child healthcare.
