Noida, June 3 (APAC News): Prism, the parent company of hospitality major OYO, has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch an initial public offering (IPO) worth Rs 6,650 crore, according to sources.
The regulatory clearance marks a key step in the company’s plans to list on Indian stock exchanges after multiple previous attempts over the past few years.
The IPO will comprise a fresh issue of equity shares, with proceeds expected to be used for business expansion, strengthening the balance sheet, and general corporate purposes.
Prism had filed its confidential Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI in December 2025 and secured shareholder approval for the fundraising plan at an Extraordinary General Meeting held later that month, according to regulatory disclosures.
The company is expected to proceed with filing an updated draft prospectus in the coming weeks, after which the issue will be opened for public feedback as part of the regulatory process.
Market participants indicated that the final timing of the IPO will depend on prevailing market conditions.
The proposed public issue is likely to value Prism in the range of $7 billion to $8 billion, reflecting investor expectations around the company’s improving financial performance and global expansion strategy.
OYO, founded in 2012 by Ritesh Agarwal, has undergone significant restructuring in recent years, focusing on profitability, cost optimisation, and strengthening its presence across international markets.
The company has also worked to expand its network of partner hotels and improve operational efficiency.
If completed, the listing would be among the largest public offerings by a new-age technology-driven hospitality company in India in recent years.
SEBI’s approval is seen as a crucial milestone in Prism’s capital market journey, although the final launch will depend on regulatory filings and market readiness, sources said.
