Patna, July 3 (APAC Media): The Bihar Government has approved a ₹25,000 crore investment plan to accelerate industrial development across the state.
The initiative aims to transform Bihar into a major industrial hub, create large-scale employment opportunities, and attract both domestic and foreign investment.
The decision was taken at the Bihar Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. During the meeting, the Cabinet approved a total of 29 proposals.
The Cabinet approved a proposal allowing the Infrastructure Development Authority (AIDA) to raise a ₹25,000 crore loan from financial institutions, backed by a state government guarantee.
The funds will be used for:
- Land acquisition for industrial zones
- Development of industrial infrastructure
- Expansion of key industrial facilities across Bihar
It is expected to speed up industrial growth and strengthen infrastructure across the state.
The Government said the initiative will help transform the state’s economy and strengthen its industrial base.
The investment is expected to:
- Create large-scale employment opportunities for youth
- Attract domestic and foreign investment
- Boost economic growth and infrastructure
- Generate more jobs for women
- Support the modernisation of agriculture and industry
A target has been set of providing jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youth by 2030. Officials said the new investment plan will play a key role in achieving that goal.
In another key decision, the Cabinet extended the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package-2025 to encourage continued industrial investment in the state.
The package, which was earlier valid until June 30, 2026, will now remain in force until:
- December 31, 2026, or
- The implementation of the Industrial Investment Promotion Policy-2026, whichever is earlier
According to the government, the extension was approved in response to strong investor interest and a steady flow of investment proposals in Bihar.
This will help in strengthening its industrial policies and infrastructure to position the state as a major investment destination.
Officials believe the new investment plan and policy support will attract more industries and improve Bihar’s competitiveness.
The Cabinet’s decision is being seen as a major step towards the state’s long-term industrial growth and economic transformation.
