Dhuri (Punjab), July 2 (APAC Media): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched the Mukhyamantri Maavaan-Dhiyaan Satkaar Yojana, fulfilling a key pre-election promise of the Aam Aadmi Party government.
Under the scheme, eligible women across the state have started receiving direct financial assistance in their bank accounts.
The government released three months’ financial assistance in a single instalment.

Eligible women from the general category received ₹3,000, while Scheduled Caste (SC) women received ₹4,500.
The scheme was officially launched in Dhuri through a dedicated web portal. Beneficiaries received SMS alerts as the money was credited to their bank accounts.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann initiated the first round of fund transfers during the event.
According to the government, more than 40 lakh women have already registered under the scheme and are expected to benefit from it.
Key Highlights of the Scheme Launched in Punjab
- Nearly 97% of women in Punjab are expected to benefit
- ₹9,300 crore has been allocated for the scheme in the state budget
- Eligible women will receive monthly financial assistance
- The scheme aims to provide long-term financial security and support
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said the assistance is not meant to make beneficiaries rich, but to give them financial independence, dignity, and respect.
According to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the scheme aims to:
- Strengthen women’s financial independence
- Promote gender equality
- Increase women’s participation in economic and social decision-making
He said the initiative is a step towards building a more inclusive and equitable Punjab.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann also highlighted several initiatives undertaken by his government, including:
- Free electricity for households
- Over 68,000 government jobs provided without corruption
- Closure of toll plazas, saving commuters around ₹70 lakh daily
- Upgraded roads and infrastructure
- Improved education and healthcare services
- Expansion of public welfare and development projects
He said the government is using public funds to invest in schools, hospitals, roads, and other development works across Punjab.
