New Delhi, July 3 (APAC Media): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of IAS Prashant Sitaram Lokhande as Additional Secretary, Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Lokhande is a 2001 batch officer of the AGMUT cadre.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on July 2, 2026, Lokhande will continue to hold the additional charge of Chairperson, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) while taking up his new assignment in the MHA.
The order states that he will retain the additional responsibility as CBSE Chairperson until a regular appointment is made or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Lokhande’s appointment strengthens the senior administrative leadership in the Ministry of Home Affairs while ensuring continuity in the functioning of the country’s premier school education board.
