New Delhi, September 19 (APAC Media): Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) has become the first public sector undertaking (PSU) in India to issue digital Offers of Appointment through DigiLocker.
The move introduces a paperless and digitally verifiable system for recruitment documentation.
The initiative has been launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and is aimed at making the appointment process more convenient, secure, and transparent for selected candidates.
How the New System Works
Under the new system, candidates selected for positions at IndianOil will receive their Offers of Appointment digitally through DigiLocker. The government-backed platform will allow candidates to access their verified appointment documents from anywhere, eliminating the need to depend solely on physical copies.
The move is expected to streamline recruitment documentation while reducing paperwork and making the process faster for both candidates and the organisation.
Added Protection Against Recruitment Fraud
The initiative also addresses concerns around fake recruitment advertisements and fraudulent appointment letters issued in the name of PSUs.
Fraudsters have often targeted job aspirants by posing as representatives of public sector companies and demanding money in exchange for employment. By providing appointment documents through DigiLocker, IndianOil aims to give candidates an additional means of verifying the authenticity of their recruitment documents.
Part of IndianOil’s HR Digital Transformation
IndianOil said the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to modernise its human resource processes and enhance the employee experience from the beginning of their association with the organisation.
