Innoviti UniPay is the enterprise PoS and reconciliation engine powering 18 of India’s top 20 retail enterprises. Innoviti Genie drives EMI and payment-linked promotions for 4,000+ mobile/electronics dealers. Innoviti Link lets neighbourhood merchants collect from remote customers, with 50,000+ downloads. In an exclusive conversation Tariq Anwar, Chief Systems Architect, Innoviti tells Rajneesh De, Group Editor, APAC Media & CXO Media that Innoviti delivers three value spaces on one platform: revenue assurance (Innoviti Unipay), payment-linked promotions (Innoviti Genie), and SMB cash-flow acceleration.
What solutions and services are currently in the Innoviti portfolio in India, and what are their use cases?
Innoviti’s India has three live products plus an AI layer. Innoviti UniPay is the enterprise PoS and reconciliation engine: it does not just take payment; it audits what actually lands in the bank, catching missed credits and wrong charges. It powers 18 of India’s top 20 retail enterprises.Â
Innoviti Genie drives EMI and payment-linked promotions for 4,000+ mobile/electronics dealers.Â
Innoviti Link, launched in December 2024 under the payment-aggregator licence, lets neighbourhood merchants collect from remote customers, with 50,000+ downloads and a 4.9/4.8 app rating.Â
Rounding it out: UPI QR/Soundbox accessories, AI QC (“Holmes”), and the RAI-Innoviti SANKET report.
What changes have occurred in Innoviti Technologies’ business and operating models since it acquired the payment aggregator license?
The licence arrived in stages: in-principle RBI approval (2022), the full online PA licence (March 2024), then RBI’s expansion in January 2026 to cover physical, in-store aggregation too. That progression reshaped the business.Â
Innoviti Link was built specifically to exploit the online licence, and the January expansion now lets Innoviti run online and offline payments under one compliant framework instead of two regulatory tracks. It coincided with a broader “business transformation”: EBITDA profitability hit in May 2025 (three months early), 35% YoY revenue growth in FY24-25, and a 44% gross-margin improvement.
How does Innoviti UniPay’s UPI Acquirer Backup Platform function? How would it benefit consumers in the event of failed UPI transactions?
Launched September 1, 2026, this is the newest, and arguably cleverest, piece of UniPay. It is an unsupervised-learning system that builds a behavioural baseline for each UPI acquirer, watches live traffic against it, and reroutes a transaction to a healthier acquirer within microseconds, before it fails, with no change to merchant systems and no QR rescan for the shopper.Â
The stakes: roughly 1 in 10 failed UPI payments converts to a card within 90 seconds, quietly shifting a near-free transaction onto a card rail costing 90-150 bps. In pilots across five hypermarkets, it intercepted 4,000+ potential failures in a month and cut UPI failure rates by 90%, saving one 100-store chain over ₹2 crore a year. For the consumer, It is invisible by design: the payment just works the first time.
What are the key pillars of Innoviti’s GTM strategy and what initiatives support this strategy?
1.Verticalisation
Deepening our presence in priority categories including food & grocery, lifestyle, healthcare, and electronics & jewellery rather than pursuing a broad horizontal approach. This enables stronger category expertise, sharper product-market fit, and deeper customer relationships.
2.Monetisation Shift
Transitioning from hardware-led and rental economics toward recurring, outcome-linked software subscriptions across reconciliation, promotions, and cash-flow solutions. This creates a more scalable and predictable revenue model.
3.Enterprise-Led Distribution
Using partnerships with large retailers as a distribution engine into their SMB ecosystems. As enterprise relationships cascade through partner networks, referrals have become a powerful growth flywheel, with 80%+ of new customers now coming through referrals.
Supporting Initiatives
Aftermarket Hardware Expansion: Extending the installed base through add-ons such as UPI QR and Soundbox.
SANKET Report: Building industry relationships and strengthening our position as a credible voice on sector trends and insights.
AI as a Technical Moat: Deploying AI-led tools such as the UPI Acquirer Backup Platform and Holmes AI to deepen product differentiation and technical defensibility.
Balance-Sheet Discipline: Maintaining financial discipline with a clear focus on building an IPO-ready business.
What are Innoviti’s unique differentiators compared to other digital payment transaction solution providers like Pine Labs, Mswipe and Razorpay?
Innoviti competes on software depth, not payment-rail breadth. It is verticalised – going deep into category-specific consumer journeys and merchant workflows rather than a horizontal gateway. It delivers three value spaces on one platform: revenue assurance (Innoviti unipay), payment-linked promotions (innoviti genie), and SMB cash-flow acceleration.Â
Pricing is outcome-tied to conversion lift, financed sales, and net-fund accuracy – not hardware rentals. Enterprise depth self-funds SMB distribution. A sovereign, in-country AI stack powers field-service QA at 50,000+ stores and pre-emptive UPI acquirer routing. 14 patents granted, 11 in pipeline.
What are the benefits of enterprise PoS machines for Indian businesses?
Enterprise PoS is no longer about accepting cards – it turns the payment moment into revenue assurance, sales acceleration, and margin protection. It delivers bill-to-bank reconciliation that eliminates leakage from missed credits, wrong charges, and extra debits.Â
It unifies UPI, cards, and EMI with payment-linked promotions to accelerate sales. Intelligent, AI-driven multi-acquirer routing protects margin by preventing UPI failures from migrating to costlier card rails. It accelerates cash flow, gives finance leadership centralised visibility across multi-store estates, and layers PCI-DSS-grade security with deep IT integration – converting a PoS estate from a transaction rail into a business asset.Â
Which marquee retail brands currently use Innoviti UniPay, and what are their use cases?
Innoviti Unipay powers 18 of India’s top 20 retail enterprises across food & grocery, lifestyle, jewellery, consumer electronics, and healthcare – processing more than 50% of all purchases in enterprise retail in food & grocery, lifestyle, and healthcare.Â
