New Delhi, September 18 (APAC Media): Union Minister for Education Shri Pralhad Joshi has launched a six-month Certificate (Bridge) Course in Primary Teacher Education (PTE) for in-service primary school teachers holding a B.Ed. degree.Â
Course to Strengthen Primary Teaching
The programme will focus on child-centred, inclusive and developmentally appropriate teaching practices. It will combine theoretical learning with practical classroom experience to help teachers address diverse learning needs.
The initiative aims to support the professional development of in-service teachers and enhance the quality of primary-level teaching. The course will also help teachers connect professional learning with practical classroom experience.
Eligibility and Admission Details
The Bridge Course is designed for in-service primary school teachers appointed between June 28, 2018, and August 11, 2023, to teach Classes I-V with a B.Ed. degree. It is specifically intended for teachers whose appointments are protected under the NCTE Gazette Notification dated June 28, 2018.
The programme will include theoretical and practical components focused on foundational learning principles. The medium of instruction will be Hindi and English, while teachers can take the public theory examination in any of the 22 scheduled languages under the Eighth Schedule.
Online Admission Process
Admission will be conducted online through the NIOS Bridge Course portal. Eligible teachers can register, upload the required documents and track their admission status through the designated dashboard.
