Gandhinagar, July 2 (APAC Media): The Gujarat Government has announced a major revision to the SPIPA scheme to strengthen support for UPSC Civil Services aspirants.
Under the revised scheme, eligible candidates studying at the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) and its affiliated coaching centres will receive a monthly stipend of up to ₹4,000 during the Preliminary examination phase.
The government has also increased stage wise financial incentives for candidates who qualify the Preliminary, Main, and Interview stages.
Under the revised benefits, female aspirants can receive financial assistance of up to ₹2.05 lakh.
Male candidates will be eligible for support of up to ₹1.55 lakh.
The enhanced financial support is designed to reduce the cost of UPSC preparation for aspirants.
It aims to make quality coaching more accessible and encourage more students to pursue careers in the Civil Services.
The government said the revised scheme will help increase Gujarat’s representation in the IAS, IPS, IFS, and other Central Civil Services.
The revised SPIPA scheme offers financial assistance at every stage of the UPSC Civil Services Examination, ensuring candidates receive support throughout their journey.
| Stage | Male | Female |
|---|---|---|
| Preliminary | ₹35,000 | ₹50,000 |
| Main | ₹45,000 | ₹55,000 |
| Final Selection | ₹75,000 | ₹1 lakh |
| Maximum Support | ₹1.55 lakh | ₹2.05 lakh |
The higher incentives for women reflect the state’s focus on increasing female representation in the Civil Services.
