Noida, July 2 (APAC Media): The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has further delayed the restoration of its online services, extending the outage by one more day amid an ongoing major upgrade of its claims processing system.
In a post on X on Thursday, EPFO said that member and employer services will now resume from 00:00 hours on July 3, 2026, instead of the earlier scheduled July 2 restoration.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation said its system upgrade is underway, asking users to wait for a “better digital EPFO experience”, and confirmed that member and employer services will resume from 00:00 hours on July 3, 2026.
In a message posted on X, the organisation added: “We deeply regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience.”

The extension of the outage means millions of subscribers and employers will continue to face disruptions in accessing key online services, including provident fund claim submissions, passbook downloads, and claim status tracking.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation began a planned system migration on June 26, aimed at consolidating its database and upgrading software applications supporting its claims processing system.
The maintenance work was initially scheduled to conclude on June 28, with services expected to resume from June 29.
However, the deadline was subsequently extended to July 1 and later pushed to July 2.
With the latest revision, the restoration timeline has now been deferred once again, and services are expected to become available from 00:00 hours on July 3, 2026.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation said its system upgrade process is still underway and confirmed that member and employer services will reopen on July 3, 2026. It added that the inconvenience caused is regretted.
The notice stated that both the member interface and employer interface will remain inaccessible until the migration is completed.
As a result, all online services accessed through these platforms continue to be unavailable.
The extended outage means subscribers will have to wait an additional day to carry out routine transactions such as provident fund withdrawal claims, passbook downloads, claim status tracking, and online transfer requests.
Employers are also affected, as they remain unable to access the Employer Interface for filing returns and completing other compliance-related processes. All services linked to the EPFO’s online portals will remain suspended until the upgrade is fully completed.
Subscribers of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation have been advised to wait until the completion of the ongoing system upgrade, with services currently expected to resume from 00:00 hours on July 3, 2026, subject to finalisation of the migration process.
Given that the restoration timeline has been revised multiple times since the maintenance began on June 26, users are being urged to verify the latest status updates before attempting to access services.
Members and employers are advised to rely on official communications from EPFO, including its portal and posts on X, to confirm service availability before initiating transactions such as claim submissions, passbook downloads, or compliance filings.
Until services are fully restored, all transactions through the Member Interface and Employer Interface will remain temporarily unavailable.
