Noida, July 2 (APAC Media): Gold prices edged lower in the domestic retail market on Thursday, while silver continued its upward momentum, reflecting mixed trends in the bullion segment amid fluctuations in global markets.

Analysts said fluctuations in international precious metal prices and changes in the rupee’s exchange rate against the US dollar remained key factors influencing domestic bullion rates.
Retail gold and silver prices vary across cities due to local taxes, transportation costs and dealer margins. In addition to the quoted rates, buyers are required to pay Goods and Services Tax (GST) and making charges while purchasing jewellery.
Market participants expect bullion prices to remain volatile in the near term as investors await fresh global economic cues.
Traders said demand from the jewellery sector is likely to improve ahead of the upcoming festive and wedding season, although international market trends will continue to determine the direction of gold and silver prices in the domestic market.
