Additional Charge Continues
The ministry has approved the continuation of Sanjay Khanna’s additional responsibility as Director (Refineries). He will continue to hold the role until further orders or a regular appointment is made.
BPCL had first announced the additional charge on April 16, 2026. The latest extension was disclosed on July 30, 2026.
Dual Responsibilities to Continue at BPCL
With the extension, Sanjay Khanna will continue to serve as:
- Chairman and Managing Director, BPCL
- Director (Refineries) (Additional Charge)
The arrangement is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted leadership and smooth functioning of BPCL’s refining business.
Regulatory Disclosure
The company submitted the disclosure to both the BSE and NSE in compliance with SEBI’s disclosure norms.
The filing was signed by V. Kala, Company Secretary of BPCL.
Ensuring Operational Continuity
According to the company, the extension will help maintain stability in decision-making and operational efficiency across its refinery business.
The additional charge is expected to support seamless execution of refinery operations while ensuring continuity in strategic planning until a full-time Director (Refineries) is appointed.
Key Role in Refining Operations
The Director (Refineries) oversees BPCL’s refinery operations, including production planning, operational efficiency, maintenance, safety standards and long-term development of the refining business.
The position plays a crucial role in ensuring uninterrupted fuel production and supporting the company’s energy security objectives.
