Noida, July 31 (APAC Media): Bajaj Finserv on Friday reported a 12 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit attributable to owners of the company at ₹3,133.35 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹2,788 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The group’s total income during the quarter rose 19 per cent year-on-year.
Including non-controlling interests, Bajaj Finserv’s consolidated profit after tax grew 18.6 per cent to ₹6,296.61 crore from ₹5,329.10 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Profit attributable to non-controlling interests increased 24 per cent to ₹3,164.37 crore during the quarter, making up the difference between the group’s total profit and the portion attributable to Bajaj Finserv shareholders.

Total income of Bajaj Finserv rose to ₹42,036.50 crore in the quarter from ₹35,301.02 crore in the corresponding period last year, while total expenses increased 17 per cent to ₹33,109.92 crore from ₹28,097 crore.
Profit before tax grew 24 per cent year-on-year to ₹8,952.19 crore from ₹7,203.64 crore. Basic earnings per share increased to ₹19.60 during the quarter, compared with ₹17.67 in the year-ago period.
The company said investments held by its insurance subsidiaries may lead to temporary volatility in consolidated profit due to unrealised mark-to-market movements.
Excluding unrealised mark-to-market gains and including realised equity gains recognised under other comprehensive income, profit attributable to owners of the company increased 5.1 per cent to ₹3,012 crore from ₹2,866 crore.
Bajaj Finance’s profit grows 27.6 per cent.
Bajaj Finance, the retail-financing arm of the group, reported a 27.6 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated profit after tax to ₹6,081 crore for the quarter, compared with ₹4,765 crore in the year-ago period.
The company’s net interest income rose 22.9 per cent to ₹12,571 crore, while assets under management grew 23.9 per cent to ₹5.47 trillion as of June 30, 2026, from ₹4.41 trillion a year earlier.
Asset quality improved during the quarter, with gross non-performing assets declining to 0.96 per cent from 1.03 per cent, while net non-performing assets fell to 0.39 per cent from 0.50 per cent.
Bajaj Finance’s capital adequacy ratio stood at 20.90 per cent at the end of the quarter.
Life insurance VNB rises; general insurance profit declines.
Bajaj Life Insurance reported an 86.9 per cent year-on-year increase in net value of new business (VNB) to ₹271 crore in the quarter, compared with ₹145 crore in the year-ago period. VNB represents the present value of expected profits from new policies issued during the period.
The subsidiary’s new business premium rose 58.8 per cent to ₹3,678 crore, while gross written premium increased 35.1 per cent to ₹7,399 crore.
Bajaj General Insurance reported an 11.3 per cent growth in gross written premium to ₹5,789 crore during the quarter. However, its profit after tax declined 27.6 per cent to ₹478 crore from ₹660 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The general insurer’s combined ratio increased by 110 basis points to 104.7 per cent, while the claim ratio rose by 320 basis points to 74.3 per cent.
Bajaj Finserv’s board has approved a proposal to enter the reinsurance business through a subsidiary to be incorporated for this purpose.
The proposed venture will be subject to approvals from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and other relevant authorities.
