Patna, 26 August (APAC Media): Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced a series of initiatives to improve women’s safety, education, employment, and economic empowerment in the state.
The measures include dedicated policing, scholarships, startup support, competitive examination incentives, and employment opportunities.
Police Didi to Strengthen Women’s Safety
Under the ‘Police Didi’ campaign, female police officers will be deployed across schools, colleges, and other educational institutions to safeguard girls and women. To support their field duties, around 2,700 scooters and more than 2,000 motorcycles will be provided to women police personnel.
Girls’ PhD Fellowship to Support Higher Education
The government will launch the Chief Minister’s Girls’ PhD Fellowship, offering financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per month for four years to around 1,000 female students. The scheme is aimed at encouraging women to pursue advanced academic and research opportunities.
Startup Scheme to Encourage Entrepreneurship
The ‘Bihar Ki Beti Startup Challenge Scheme’ will provide financial assistance ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh to girls seeking to establish entrepreneurial ventures. The initiative is intended to promote women-led businesses and strengthen their economic independence.
Incentives for Competitive Exam Aspirants
Female students who clear the preliminary examinations of major competitive examinations will receive incentives ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The move is designed to encourage more women to pursue careers in government and other competitive sectors.
One Crore Women to Get Employment
In addition to these initiatives, Choudhary also announced the government’s plan to provide employment opportunities to one crore women in Bihar over the next three years.
