Amaravati, 24 August (APAC Media): Suzlon Group is planning to develop 1,325 MW of new wind power projects in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, with clean energy companies including Waaree Energy and Tata Power.
As part of the expansion, Andhra Pradesh State Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh is scheduled to inaugurate Suzlon’s new S144 wind blades at Huliker village in Kanekallu mandal on 25 August, 2026.
The upcoming projects are expected to generate around 4,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, strengthening the renewable energy ecosystem and creating new economic opportunities in the region.
Suzlon Presence in Andhra Pradesh
Suzlon already has more than 1,700 MW of installed wind energy capacity in Andhra Pradesh. The company aims to establish an additional 5 GW of renewable energy projects in the state by 2030, significantly expanding its presence in the region.
The company has invested around Rs 12,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh to date. The Anantapur blade facility contributes nearly 40% of Suzlon’s overall blade production, with annual production capacity equivalent to 1,260 MW.
Focus on Green Skill
Suzlon’s operations have created employment for around 2,200 people in the state. The Andhra Pradesh Government and the company are also collaborating on a green skills development programme for young professionals.
The Wind Energy Learning Centres in Uravakonda and Vijayawada have trained around 12,000 young professionals, with women accounting for approximately 25% of trainees.
