New Delhi, August 24 (APAC Media): The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, has launched the ‘Garbhini Mitra’ course for the 2026-27 academic session to train personnel in providing health education, lifestyle guidance and community-level support to women during pregnancy and the postnatal period.
The six-month offline programme will be conducted at the AIIA campus in Sarita Vihar, New Delhi, with a maximum of 20 students in each batch. Classes will be held from Monday to Friday between 3 pm and 5 pm.
The course draws on Ayurvedic concepts including Garbhini Paricharya, Sutika Paricharya and Garbhadhana Vidhi.
The curriculum covers trimester-specific diet, lifestyle guidance, pregnancy-safe yoga, emotional support during labour, newborn massage and basic life-support protocols.
It also includes training in infection control, sanitation, biomedical waste management and workplace safety.
Candidates who have passed Class 12 from a recognised board and are at least 18 years old can apply. Those awaiting their Class 12 results may also submit provisional applications.
The last date to apply is August 31, 2026.
The course is intended to complement clinical antenatal care, with trained personnel expected to identify warning signs and facilitate timely referrals to qualified doctors and healthcare facilities.
