Kolkata, 24 August (APAC Media): IDFC FIRST Bank has partnered with the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) to launch IGNITE.
IGNITE is a pan-India programme to support early-stage enterprises developing sustainable business solutions.
The programme will provide a total financial and operational support package of Rs 2 crore, including a Rs 1.36 crore direct startup grant corpus. The initiative is designed to help emerging ventures strengthen their business models, expand market access, and deliver measurable environmental and social impact.
Focus on Green and Circular Economy Solutions
Under IGNITE, 16 startups will be selected through a competitive evaluation process. The programme will focus on enterprises working across key sustainability areas, including:
- Green manufacturing
- Waste recycling and upcycling
- Cleantech and renewable energy
- Water management
- Environmental technologies
- Sustainable use of indigenous resources
The selected ventures will participate in a structured incubation programme featuring business diagnostics, expert mentoring, intensive bootcamps, networking opportunities, and access to industry ecosystems.
Performance-Linked Funding for Scale-Up
Top-performing enterprises will also be eligible for performance-linked grant support to expand their operations.Â
IGNITE is also expected to support circular economy models that divert waste from landfills, improve resource efficiency, and contribute to revenue growth and local employment generation.
Through the partnership, IDFC FIRST Bank and IIMCIP seek to create a stronger ecosystem for sustainable entrepreneurship and help promising startups translate innovative solutions into commercially viable businesses with measurable social and environmental outcomes.
