New Delhi, September 30 (APAC Media): The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), under Digital India Corporation (DIC), MeitY, has launched ‘CAG-BHASHINI Anuvaad,’ an AI-enabled document translation solution in collaboration with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).
The platform will support the translation of official CAG documents and audit-related reports into Indian languages.
Customised Language AI Solution
CAG-BHASHINI Anuvaad has been developed as a customised Language AI solution for the CAG. It is designed to support consistent terminology, contextual translation, and improved quality of translation while complementing existing institutional processes.
The platform also incorporates requirements related to security, controlled access, and data sovereignty, with human oversight retained as part of the translation process.
Expanding Access to Official Information
The collaboration brings BHASHINI’s multilingual language technology into an institutional workflow, with the aim of making official and audit-related information more accessible across languages.
Technology to Support Multilingual Audit Access
CAG chief K. Sanjay Murthy highlighted the importance of making audit findings and reports accessible to citizens in languages they understand. He noted the potential of technology to facilitate access to audit information in local and regional languages while supporting the wider use of Hindi and other Indian languages in official work.
BHASHINI Expands Multilingual Capabilities
BHASHINI currently supports 36 Indian text languages, 23 Indian voice languages, and 35 international languages. Its technologies are being applied across public-service use cases, including multilingual agricultural advisories, voice-enabled grievance registration, and conversational services through voice and telephone interfaces.
The launch marks an expansion of Language AI into government institutional processes and highlights its potential to support multilingual access to public information.
