Agartala: Dr Sandeep Namdeo Mahatme IAS has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the central staffing scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post.
Namdeo, a Tripura cadre 2010 batch officer is currently posted as Director Urban Development in Tripura. He was also holding additional charges of Chief Executive officer, Tripura Urban Development Authority (TUDA) and Director of Skill Development, Tripura. In addition, he was also given the post of Mission director, Agartala Smart City Ltd. Earlier; he was deputed as District Magistrate in West Tripura District. Last August he was transferred to TUDA.
He is expected to join by April 8 as per the mandatory instructions of the Appointments Committee of Cabinet.
In a letter to the Chief Secretary Tripura, the DoPT requested to relieve Namdeo of his duties immediately to take up his new assignment in Health & Family Welfare department.
