Ola Electric has put a foot in the market of high-profile electric vehicles, with it’s two models
of scooters, that the company has stated will be priced lower than that of rivals, but will
offer higher range and better performance when they become available in the market by
October 2021.
Launching the scooter, Ola founder-CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said, “The first phase of
Futurefactory is near completion and out teams are busy perfecting each and every feature
for you. We will officially open OlaS1 for purchase from September 8, 2021, and will start
delivering across 1,000 cities and towns in October. Till then, Ola S1 is available for
reservation at just Rs.499”
The Company which will compete with EV Scooter industry including Marker Ather Energy,
Bajaj Auto and TVS Motors, will aim to boost its production capacity at its plant at Tamil
Nadu to 1 million scooters very soon. The company claims to have received an
overwhelming response of over 100.000 pre-bookings in the first 24 hours of it opening for
public.
Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder and CEO at ANI Technologies, the parent company of both
ride hailing firm Ola and EV maker Ola Electric, said the company is seeing “demand for this
vehicle from every-where, and obviously from the biggest cities as well, as scooters are an
urban mobility product.”
“The S1 and S1 pro are industry leading product with best-in-class range, speed and cost” he
