New Delhi: The youngest state of India gets her first woman Chief Secretary. Senior IAS officer A. Shanti Kumari has assumed charge as the new Chief Secretary of Telangana. The 1989 batch IAS officer has previously served in important positions such as Chief Minister’s Office and as Special Secretary in the TS-iPASS.
Thanking the Chief Minister for selecting her, Shanti Kumari said Telangana was implementing a spree of welfare and development programmes which turned out to be role model for other States to follow.
A post-graduate in Marine Biology, Shanti Kumari has pursued MBA in the US and also worked in the United Nations programmes for two years. She has been working in the areas of poverty alleviation, education, health, skill development and forest departments in the past three decades of her service.
