NOIDA: To reduce long queues at the registration counters at Child PGI, scan and share system has been introduced at the institute. Patients can scan the QR code pasted at the registration counter using a smartphone and get an OPD slip by filling some basic details.
Officials at the institute said that more people are being encouraged to utilise the facility by scanning the QR code using the arogya setu app. Once registered, patients will not need to share their details again, the token will be generated by scanning the QR code.
The hospital gets at least 700 patients in the OPD every day and registrations take a long waiting time. During most weekdays, people queue up at the counter from 9am. With covid cases rising in the district, the digital service will help in maintaining social distance, said an official at PGICH.
As of now, at least 50-70 people are using the QR code daily .
