London: NTT Ltd and SES, a leading global content connectivity service provider via satellite, have announced a multi-year partnership to use SES satellites to deliver NTT’s Edge as a Service to enterprise customers. The collaboration will bring together NTT’s expertise in networking and enterprise managed services with SES’s unique satellite capabilities to deliver reliable connectivity to enterprises that must meet surges in connectivity demand or are based beyond the reach of fixed terrestrial networks.
The unique offering combines NTT’s fully managedPrivate 5G and Edge Compute with SES’s second-generation medium earth orbit communications system- O3b mPOWER -to provide expanded and reliable connectivity. This solution is intended for companies operating in regions where terrestrial networks are lacking and enterprises wanting to leverage high-performance connectivity to increase their efficiency and grow revenue.Through the combined versatility of Private 5G networks and satellite technology, this end-to-end solution is expected to propel industries – such as energy, mining, maritime, manufacturing,industrial, etc. -that have otherwise been limited by connectivity today and will need to ramp up their digital transformation plans and increase revenue streams.
