New Delhi: With immediate effect, the Ministry of Power (MoP) has nominated IAS officer Shashank Misra, Joint Secretary, MoP, as Government Nominee Director on the Board of REC Limited.
Before joining the MoP, Shashank Misra worked in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. From the 2007 batch, he is an exemplary member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in the Madhya Pradesh cadre.
IAS Shashank Misra has served as the Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited, Madhya Pradesh Building Development Corporation Limited, and Madhya Pradesh State Asset Management Company Limited. His credibility earned him the chairmanship of Ujjain Smart City Limited, and he also served as the CEO of Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority.
The Nomination and Remuneration Committee recommended IAS Shashank Misra to the Board of Directors of the Company, who approved his appointment for the position through circulation resolution. He will be assuming his duties with effect from August 21, 2023 subject to the approval of shareholders.
The addendum to the notice of the 54th Annual General Meeting of REC Limited explains, “Shri IAS Shashank Misra, brings in expertise in various areas such as financial management, power sector domain expertise, project appraisal, corporate planning & strategy, risk management, leadership, board practices & governance, environment & social areas.”
