The time has come to make electronic government service delivery efficient, focusing on efficacy and scaling up. This was said by Sanjay Das, Additional Secretary, Department of Information Technology & Electronics , Government of West Bengal and MD, WEBEL in a recent edition of APAC Dialogue. “Over the years, what I have understood is that, E does not only stand for Electronic Service Delivery but it also signifies Efficiency & Efficacy,” added Das.
On the other hand, in this age of digital transformation, Data Privacy is very important, according to him. Sanjay explains that ‘ for me data privacy is all about awareness and upskilling.” Data privacy cannot be compromised and that can be only done through anonymizer. ‘That’s why the West Bengal Government has organized the first of its kind Data Anonymizer Hackathon to address this issue of Data Privacy,’ added Das.
Sanjay Das also highlighted the importance of Emerging Technologies. He said, ‘We engage AI,ML, Blockchain like emerging technologies for better understanding of future happenings and for more transparency and we should look at emerging technology as an enabler for service delivery.’
