New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the launch of three new employment-linked schemes aimed at generating job opportunities across India. The announcement, made during a press conference in New Delhi, emphasized the government’s focus on boosting self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth.
The first scheme, the Self-Employment Assistance Scheme (SEAS), aims to provide financial support and skill training to aspiring entrepreneurs. This initiative will focus on empowering individuals to start their own businesses, thereby creating job opportunities at the grassroots level.
The second scheme, the Employment Promotion Subsidy (EPS), will offer subsidies to companies that generate significant employment. This initiative targets both large enterprises and MSMEs, encouraging them to hire more workers by reducing the financial burden associated with new employment.
The third scheme, the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP), will specifically target young graduates and professionals. It will provide mentorship, training, and financial aid to help young entrepreneurs establish and grow their startups. This program is designed to harness the innovative potential of the youth and convert it into tangible business ventures. During the press conference, the Finance Minister highlighted the importance of these schemes in addressing the unemployment challenge and fostering economic growth. She mentioned that the government is committed to creating an ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship and job creation.
The three schemes are part of a broader strategy to boost the economy and provide sustainable employment opportunities. The government will soon release detailed guidelines and eligibility criteria for these initiatives.
