New Delhi: In the Union Budget 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced a significant allocation of Rs 1.48 lakh crore towards education, employment, and skill development. This funding is aimed at enhancing the quality and reach of educational and training programs across the country.
The allocation includes Rs 1.12 lakh crore designated for the education sector, focusing on improvements in infrastructure, teacher training, and the integration of technology in classrooms. The budget also earmarks Rs 36,000 crore for employment and skilling initiatives, designed to support job creation and vocational training.
Key initiatives under this budget include the expansion of existing schemes and the introduction of new programs targeting skill development for youth and the underprivileged. The emphasis is on increasing employability through specialized training and creating opportunities for skill enhancement in various sectors.
