Ahmedabad: JG International School (JGIS) and Kobe’s Keimei Gakuin School (KG) have officially inaugurated the Sakura Indo-Japanese Nursery Division at JGIS. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in educational and cultural exchange between India and Japan.
The division was inaugurated by Dr. Kavita Sharma, Principal of JGIS, and Mr. Ibusuki Chikara, Principal of Keimei Gakuin High School. The Sakura division’s curriculum features traditional Japanese arts such as calligraphy and martial arts, alongside Indian classical music, folk dances, and indigenous games. This approach is designed to foster a holistic educational experience, emphasizing skill-based learning over rote memorization and focusing on moral character and comprehensive development.
Students will benefit from bilingual education in English and Japanese, enhancing their multilingual abilities and cross-cultural communication skills. The collaboration also includes regular student exchange programs and joint educational initiatives to deepen mutual understanding between students from both countries. The inauguration event highlighted the significance of this partnership in advancing educational standards and promoting cultural integration. This new division aims to prepare students for an interconnected world by providing them with a diverse and enriched learning environment.
