Amaravati, May 15 (APAC Media): The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved investment proposals worth more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore across sectors, including artificial intelligence, clean energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and food processing.Â
The decisions were taken during the 49th Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat.
A major highlight of the approvals was the clearance granted to Reliance Industries Limited for establishing a giga-scale AI data centre project in the Visakhapatnam district. The project, linked with a cable landing station, will come up across Polipalli, Bhogapuram East, and Bhogapuram West villages.Â
The state cabinet approved allotment of nearly 855 acres for the facility, which involves an investment of more than Rs 1.08 lakh crore and is expected to create around 1,000 direct jobs along with large-scale indirect employment opportunities in construction, manufacturing, and IT services.
Key Industrial and Manufacturing Approvals
The cabinet also approved several large-scale industrial projects aimed at boosting employment and industrial growth in the state. These include:
- Apollo Tyres Limited Phase-IV expansion at Varadaiahpalem in Chittoor district with an investment of Rs 6,100 crore and employment for around 1,000 people.
- Eicher Motors Limited received approval for a greenfield Royal Enfield manufacturing facility in Tirupati district involving Rs 2,508 crore investment and potential employment for 3,000 people.
- International Food and Fragrance India Private Limited will establish an enzyme manufacturing facility at the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited Kisan SEZ in Nellore district with an investment exceeding Rs 3,150 crore.
- Gridon Energy Private Limited received land allotment at Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub in Kurnool district for a 3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility worth Rs 3,149.5 crore.
- Chettinad Cement Corporation Private Limited secured approval for the expansion of its integrated cement plant in Palnadu district with an investment of Rs 1,340 crore.
- Sneha Farms Private Limited was granted special incentives for broiler breeder farms and hatchery units in Anantapur and Annamayya districts.
Push for Clean Energy and Sustainability
In the renewable energy sector, the cabinet approved another major proposal by Reliance Industries Limited to establish a 6,600 MW AC / 9,000 MWp DC solar power project with a 29,000 MWh Battery Energy Storage System in the Sri Sathya Sai district under the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy-2024.
Additionally, approvals were granted for green hydrogen, green ammonia, solar power and compressed biogas projects across multiple districts, including Nandyal, Tirupati, Eluru and East Godavari.
Technology, Infrastructure and MSME Initiatives
The cabinet further approved the establishment of a special R&D facility by the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory at Amaravati Quantum Valley for naval and hybrid quantum computing research.
Among other decisions, the government cleared:
- Development of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy Airport in Kurnool under PPP mode
- Creation of Andhra Pradesh SME Exchange (APSMEX) to support MSMEs
- Amendments involving Skyroot Aerospace and Ethereal Exploration Guild agreements
- Canal strengthening works worth over Rs 397.5 crore during 2026-27
- Rs 790.3 crore allocation for Madakasira branch canal expansion projects
The approvals reflect Andhra Pradesh’s aggressive push towards becoming a major investment, technology, and clean energy hub in India.
