New Delhi: Indian Revenue Service IRS officer Shanker Lal has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. He is a 2013 batch officer.
The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) issued an order on Tuesday that specified he has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme (CCS). He will be serving in this post for a period of four years coming to effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever occurs first.
The Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, recommended Shanker for Central deputation. The order read, “He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.”
