Guwahati: Recently, the Assam government appointed IAS Sameer Kumar Khade as the new Chairman of the Assam Administrative Tribunal (AAT). He belongs to the 1989 batch, from the Assam cadre.
Khade recently returned from central deputation and will be taking over this post from IAS officer Ravi Shankar Prasad. Prasad is from the 1990 batch, and held the charge as an additional responsibility.
Prasad is currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Environment & Forest and Soil Conservation Departments, and as the Director General at the Assam Administrative Staff College.
