New Delhi: Mayank Mishra,a 2009-batch Indian Revenue Service officer (IRS) has been appointed as the Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. This as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) recently.
The appointment is made under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of five years from the date of assuming the post’s charge or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
Currently serving as the Joint Director at the National Academy of Direct Taxes, Mishra will be relieved of his duties promptly with instructions to commence his new role in the Ministry of Home Affairs, according to the official order.
Mayank Mishra holds a master’s degree in taxation and business laws from NALSAR, Hyderabad. His educational background also includes a BA Honors in History from IGNOU and a Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from New Delhi.
His professional experience includes various roles in the Department, including Assessment, Investigation, Administration, and TDS at locations such as Jodhpur, Ranchi, and Patna. Prior to joining the National Academy of Direct Taxes, Mishra served as DDIT (Investigation) in Ranchi.
