Bengaluru: PowerSchool, a leading cloud-based software provider for K-12 education, has unveiled plans to expand its India-based employee base from 1,300 to 2,000 personnel over the next 3 to 5 years.
PowerSchool has invested nearly 40 crores to enhance its Bengaluru headquarters. The expansion includes an increase in the Centre of Excellence (CoE) space from 75,000 sq ft to 112,000 sq ft. They have also announced plans to expand its office in Chennai in 2024.
The CoE will incorporate the latest technology into PowerSchool’s educational technology products. Recruitment efforts will span all PowerSchool business units in India, focusing on elevating Research and Development, product innovation, customer service, marketing, and sales functions, as stated in a company release.
Key technology-focused positions to be filled include roles for Data Scientists and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) experts.
PowerSchool acquired Jarulss Software Solutions (Neverskip) in September 2023, a Chennai-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) software company. This acquisition has strengthened PowerSchool’s foothold in India, extending its reach to over 900 schools and serving 1.2 million students.
