New Delhi: Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, recently inaugurated the ‘Citizen Corner’ on the Jal Jeevan Mission’s dynamic dashboard. It offers a user-friendly interface allowing citizens to access real-time information with just a click, including water quality data and supply details.
The platform also assists in locating nearby water testing laboratories, checking rates for chemical and bacteriological tests, and booking tests seamlessly. If water quality falls below prescribed limits, citizens can easily lodge complaints for prompt action by the district’s water supply department.

This initiative aligns with the idea ‘Stay Informed, Stay Empowered’. It enables citizens to manage water quality effectively and report concerns through an online form or toll-free number provided by States/UTs. ‘Citizen Corner’ promotes transparency and accountability in water management, empowering citizens to make informed decisions and participate in ensuring water safety.
By bridging the gap between information and action, the platform strengthens Gram Panchayats and rural households, fostering confidence in water management and enhancing the effectiveness of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including Uttar Pradesh’s Jal Shakti Minister, Swatantra Dev Singh, Anurag Srivastava, Principal Secretary – Government of Uttar Pradesh, and popular actor and Lok Sabha Member, Ravi Kishan.
