IAS officer Muthukrishnan Sankaranarayanan appointed Joint Secretary, DAE; 12 more officers appointed JS across various departments

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of various officers at the Joint Secretary level or equivalent across several departments. Following are their names and new designations:

• IAS officer Muthukrishnan Sankaranarayanan (2003 batch) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
• IAS officer Rahul Jain will serve as the Joint Secretary in the Sixteenth Finance Commission under the Department of Economic Affairs.
• Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) officer Shobhit Gupta (2000 batch) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
• IRS officer Vimal Anand is taking charge as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.
• IFoS officer Monalisa Dash has been appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MoDNER).
• IA&AS officer Ranjit Singh has been appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
• IOFS officer Rajeev Kumar has been posted as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
• IRS officer Vrunda Manohar Desai will serve as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
• IRPS officer Navin Agarwal has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Investment & Public Asset Management.
• IRSEE officer Mahendra Kumar has been temporarily upgraded to Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Labour & Employment.
• IRSME officer Vivek Kumar Bajpai (IRSME) has been appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Mines.
• CSS officer Lal Chhandama (CSS) will serve as the Joint Secretary in the Department of Rural Development.
• IA&AS officer Debolina Thakur has been posted as the Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.

  Additionally, the following officers have been shuffled across various departments. Their names are as follows:

• CSS officer Rajiv Manjhi will serve as Director of the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management (ISTM) under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
• IRPS officer Jai Prakash Pandey has been posted as the Additional Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
• CSS officer Rahul Kashyap will take charge as the Secretary of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.
