New Delhi: Pearl Academy and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently collaborated to hold a training program for CBSE-affiliated school teachers in Textile Design. The event took place at Pearl Academy’s Rajouri Garden campus in Delhi, with 65 teachers from Delhi and Chandigarh attending.
The training focused on eco-friendly practices in textile design and introduced participants to innovations from companies like Dupont and Lenzing Scholler. The session was part of an effort to imbibe more sustainable practices into the curriculum, especially as Delhi’s government and aided schools shift from Textile Science to a broader Apparel Science program.
The program covered fundamental aspects like fabric and fibre testing, block and screen printing, weaving structures, and innovations in smart textiles.
Jyoti, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Skill Education at CBSE, said, “This training program will enhance their (teacher’s) professional growth as well as enrich the student’s learning experiences.”
Aditi Srivastava, President of Pearl Academy, said, “By fostering interactive and hands-on learning experiences, we aim to enhance the professional development of educators, ultimately benefiting students across the nation.”
