Jodhpur: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur and All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jodhpur have collaborated to develop advanced medical technologies suited to Indian healthcare needs. This partnership has led to the emergence of innovative startups and technologies, including novel syringe designs, precision oncology using 3D cell models, digitally created maxillofacial prosthetics, non-surgical correction of nasal septal defects, non-animal disease models for drug testing, and nanosensor technologies for early disease detection.
Joint programs offered by the two institutes welcome students from diverse fields like engineering, medicine, nursing, and bioengineering. These programs guide students through three phases—Identify, Invent, and Implement—mentoring them to create advanced solutions. Successful completion grants them Biodesign fellowships, Prayas grants, and startup seed support, fostering the establishment of small businesses.
Through their collaboration, both institutions have created a strong multidisciplinary approach to promote innovation in deep-tech healthcare products.
