New Delhi: The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP), Dehradun, recently observed its 65th Foundation Day. The keynote speech was given by Padma Bhushan Dr V.K. Saraswat, Member of NITI Aayog and Mentor at CSIR-IIP. Dr Saraswat talked about clean energy and India’s need to adopt carbon-neutral technologies to remain globally competent.
In his lecture, titled “Energy Transition in India,” scientists were encouraged to take up research in e-Methanol and Green Hydrogen. While interacting with the scientific community of CSIR-IIP, Dr Saraswat commended the contributions made by its scientists, technicians, students, and staff.
The roadmap of the institute from 2024 to 2030 was revealed by the Director of CSIR-IIP Dr Harender Singh Bisht, with the ulterior goal of attaining “Viksit Bharat.” Dr Saraswat commended this goal and gave his input on how to make it more beneficial for the nation. Dr Bisht’s roadmap includes developments in wax production, aviation fuel, high-grade gasoline, and medical technologies among others.
