New Delhi: Jakson Green, an energy transition platform, has inked its inaugural power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The agreement involves a utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power project.
This agreement ensures Jakson Green’s emergence as a significant independent power producer (IPP) within India’s burgeoning renewable energy landscape. The PPA stemmed from SECI’s Tranche XI auction held last year for the establishment of grid-connected solar projects in India.
Jakson Green assumes responsibility for land identification, project installation, ownership acquisition, requisite approvals, and integration with the Inter State Transmission System Projects (ISTS) network to supply power to SECI.
The project is slated to commence operations within 18 months from the PPA signing date. SECI will procure power for 25 years, distributing it to various DISCOM entities across India. Apart from delivering commercial benefits to stakeholders, the project is anticipated to generate clean energy capable of powering nearly one lakh households annually.
Additionally, it is projected to mitigate approximately 1,88,000 MT/year of carbon emissions and foster employment opportunities during both construction and operational phases.
